Orientation Day!

Today was full of orientation and getting acquainted to the campus.  Although I was super busy all day, it was exciting to see what all my life would entail while I live here.

I signed up for classes, got my student ID card, saw the on campus pub and pizzeria (so cute!) and got campus and library tours.  The highlight of my day was going to Asda for the first time.  Asda is a lot like Walmart, super big and pretty low prices and a welcomed experience for a hungry international student!  My favorite purchase was a pay-as-you-go phone so I can keep in contact with people here for a cheaper rate, which will be useful when we travel to places outside of the UK.

After that, we took a bus back to campus and headed to a welcome dinner.  First culture shock moment: People in the UK eat in so much smaller portions!  We all left starving, but too tired to worry about finding food.  Aside from that, we got some good advice from Roehampton students and got to enjoy the company of other internationals.

Tomorrow is the Photo Frenzy Challenge, where we will take the tube into Central London for the first time- so excited!
