After many months of planning, filling out papers, buying travel items and bidding farewell to loved ones, I have finally arrived in London! Here is a short (or an attempt at so) description of my travels thus far.
These past few days of travel can be summed up into one word: CRAZY. I flew out of RDU where my parents and Cameron saw my departure and then headed to Newark. Thank goodness I had a flying buddy to keep me company, another UNCW student, Izzy. After a short layover in Newark, we headed out for London. The long, restless and crowded plane ride did not conform to my sleeping habits, so I have been running off of fumes today!
After arriving at Heathrow in London, we took the tube to meet the other Roehampton students (first tube experience- really cool) After a long wait at the airport, we boarded up and headed to campus! The campus here is beautiful and very quiet and secluded in an area near Putney. A short drive from the airport and even shorter tube ride into Central London, it has a serenity that reminds me of UNCW's campus. I was taken to my room in Bede Hall, which is a co-ed mix of internationals and freshers (freshmen) The room was a little smaller than I expected, but adding photos of some of my favorite people from back home makes it feel more warm and inviting.

massive wall of love! |
An afternoon of unpacking, phone troubles and organizing, I got ready and headed to dinner in Putney with five international girls here. We went to a tapas bar and had dinner and drinks to celebrate our first night in London. As we all have to be up at 9 am for a 10 hour orientation, we cut the night short with a quick trip to the convenient store for some necessities. As for now, I'll put some more clothes away and hit the sack soon so I can start an exciting day in London tomorrow. Sweet dreams, y'all
